Summary
The successful candidate for this role would be responsible for interpreting complex data and translating it into information used to inform business decisions. The QA Admin will work with the Improvement Request Report (IRR) process, the Quality Action Report (QAR) process and the Sales Order Deviation process. This position will collaborate with team members and management to ensure more efficient business decisions based on quality control and accuracy.
The Quality Control Inspector is to inspect the quality of the grating for all specified jobs. This requires knowledge of the job travelers that show quantity, grating type, material type, finish, and any special quality notes. The QC inspector will have knowledge of galvanizing quality, on‑grip process, and quality and acceptable manufacturing standards. The QC inspector will be required to know and implement the NAAMM standards.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities- Responsible for the daily administration of the Improvement Request Report (IRR) process, the Quality Action Report (QAR) process, and the Sales Order Deviation process.
- Route IRRs, QARs, and Sales Order Deviations through the necessary reviews for root cause and corrective action.
- Update Sales Orders and Travelers as necessary for IRRs, QARs, and Sales Order Deviations in a timely manner to keep production jobs moving through the Business Units for on time delivery to our Customers.
- Evaluate the internal process and suggest improvement initiatives based on findings.
- Perform audits in the Production departments to assure that processes and procedures are followed.
- Work with other groups to develop Standard Operating Procedures for Production and Administrative items.
- Assist in the training, development and/or creation of proper training materials as required.
- Read and interpret drawings.
- Read travelers to ensure quantity, grating type, material type, finish, and any special quality notes are accurate.
- Ability to use and read calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measurement tools as necessary.
- Inspect the quality of grating for all specified jobs.
- Reject any product that is not within specifications. Work with Production to repair product if possible.
- Document non‑conformance and report/return to business unit or origin.
- Implement NAAMM standards.
- Support correction as needed.
- Evaluate internal processes and suggest ideas for improvement.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The candidate must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). In addition, one or more years’ experience with a manufacturing facility. The candidate must have excellent reasoning skills, be detail oriented, accurate and complete assignments on time with little supervision. Must take initiative and be a self‑starter. Must have knowledge of galvanizing quality, on‑grip process, and quality as well as acceptable manufacturing standards.
Experience with ERP systems and knowledge of internal processes and procedures is preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, and bend, reach, push, and pull. The employee must frequently lift pieces weighing up to 45 pounds. The employee must use material handling equipment to move pieces weighing more than 45 pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential duties of this job the employee will be regularly working on the production floor. The work environment requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis.
Exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.
