The Coil Insulation Technician is responsible for insulating, assembling, testing, and repairing electrical coils and related furnace components used in industrial equipment and power systems. This role performs using insulating materials and epoxies and mechanical assembly work while ensuring all products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with custom‑engineered assemblies in a manufacturing environment.
Job Duties- Set up and use insulating materials and apply to furnace coils.
- Wear proper protective clothing and safety gear to perform insulating processes.
- Use hands and tools to apply resins, tapes, and/or varnishes.
- Be able to be trained on proper use of overhead crane and forklift.
- Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and engineering drawings.
- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure product quality.
- Assemble, test, and inspect coils and furnace‑related components.
- Perform grouting, de‑grouting, and regrouting on coils and furnace assemblies.
- Install hydraulic tubing, cylinders, hoses, and related assemblies according to specifications.
- Leak‑test water‑cooled cables and hoses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly and fit‑up issues.
- Support occasional off‑site service or repair work as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs.
- Able to wear a respirator.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with blueprints and hand tools.
- Experience painting in a booth.
