Burner/Torch Operator

We are seeking a hardworking and safety-minded Burner/Torch Operator to join our team in Canton at a Scrap/Steel Yard. This role is responsible for cutting and processing scrap metal using a propane oxygen torch while working outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Weekly pay at $17/hour

Steady 1st shift schedule (7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday)

Responsibilities:

• Cut steel scrap to specified sizes using a propane oxygen torch.
• Separate metals by type for proper processing.
• Use hand tools to assist in dismantling metal components.
• Wear required safety equipment, including respirator when needed.
• Position and move materials by bending, twisting, and maneuvering safely to perform cuts efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements:

• Experience with propane oxygen torch cutting preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable with physical requirements including bending, twisting, and lifting.
• Commitment to wearing and following all safety equipment and protocols.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
