1st Shift Brake Press Operator
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator for the 1st shift in Canton, OH. This role involves setting up and operating power brake machines to bend, notch, punch, form, roll, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes. The operator will read blueprints to obtain precise specifications and perform precision measurements as required.
Responsibilities- Set up and align dies in machine ram and bed.
- Fasten clamp bar using setscrews or bolts to secure dies in position.
- Adjust screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies according to the thickness of metal.
- Lay out or detail layout on work stock based on blueprints or templates.
- Set stops on machine bed and reposition stock for successive pieces or multiple operations.
- Measure dimensions of work-piece, perform first piece and random inspection of production.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and making precise measurements.
- Experience with mechanical machine operations, specifically Brake Press, CNC, or Turret Press.
- Familiarity with mechanical troubleshooting, and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to use tools such as micrometers, calipers, and hand tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience in a job shop or metal fabrication environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Machine Operator, CNC Operator, Brake Press Operator, or similar machinery.
- Experience with Punch Press or Laser Operation.
- Strong team player with the ability to work alongside other fabricators.

Work EnvironmentWork in a newly renovated facility built in 2010, designed to be very clean, safe, well-lit, and organized. The climate-controlled environment ensures comfort, with a laid-back atmosphere where employees are expected to work at a good pace without micromanagement. Collaborate with other fabricators to complete jobs efficiently. The facility operates on a 1st shift schedule from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
