The Injection Molding Supervisor reports directly to the Injection Mold & Maintenance Manager and serves as a key leader within the manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities Safety & Workplace Organization Promote and enforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, and LOTO procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment through 6S standards.
Identify and address safety concerns proactively.
Production Planning & Execution Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer and business requirements.
Schedule and prioritize jobs, machine utilization, mold changeovers, and staffing needs.
Monitor production performance and adjust resources as needed to meet production goals.
Quality & Process Control Ensure products meet established quality standards.
Monitor cycle times, scrap, rework, downtime, and process performance.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues and implement improvements.
Reporting & Inventory Accuracy Maintain accurate production records, downtime reporting, scrap tracking, and labor reporting.
Verify inventory accuracy and material availability.
Support ERP/MRP system transactions and reporting requirements.
Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and support production employees.
Provide performance feedback and training support.
Conduct effective shift handoffs and communicate production priorities, issues, and expectations.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Job requirements
Required
Minimum 5 years of injection molding manufacturing experience.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
Strong understanding of injection molding processes, tooling, materials, machines, and quality requirements.
Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including spreadsheets, production reporting, ERP/MRP systems, and inventory management.
Preferred Technical training or education in plastics manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, production scheduling, and process troubleshooting.
Education High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional technical or manufacturing-related education is preferred.
