Industrial Painter – 1st Shift (Mon-Fri) - $20-$24/hr | Canton, OH Job Description
This role focuses on painting industrial equipment using spray systems and a powder coat line on a steady 1st shift schedule. You prepare, prime, and finish parts to precise specifications, perform color and powder changes, and ensure high-quality coatings through thorough setup, operation, and cleaning of spray guns and related equipment.
ResponsibilitiesPaint industrial equipment using spray systems and a powder coat line, following established processes and quality standards.
Set up, adjust, and clean spray guns and related equipment to ensure proper operation and consistent paint application.
Perform color and powder changes efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and preventing cross-contamination.
Work with a variety of paints, including enamel and acrylic, and understand their different properties and applications.
Change wet tanks and feed hoppers as needed to support continuous painting operations.
Measure and understand paint thickness (mils) to meet specified coating requirements.
Maintain the wash line to ensure parts are properly cleaned and prepared prior to painting.
Prime parts before painting to promote adhesion and achieve desired finish quality.
Conduct quality checks on finished parts, inspecting coatings for coverage, thickness, and overall appearance.
Perform sanding, grinding, and other surface preparation tasks to ensure parts are ready for coating.
Operate and work within paint booths, using paint sprayers and related equipment safely and effectively.
Handle industrial painting, powder coating, spray painting, and sandblasting tasks as required.
Follow all safety procedures, including use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Work at a consistent, productive pace to complete units on time and meet project deadlines.
Collaborate with mechanical assemblers and other team members as units move through build and finishing stages.
Hands-on industrial painting experience using spray systems and powder coat processes.
Proficiency with spray guns and paint guns, including setting up, adjusting, changing, and cleaning sprayers.
Ability to work with various paint types such as enamel and acrylic and understand their applications
