Position: AmeriCorps Seniors Coordinator – SCP/FGP, Stark and Summit Counties - Full-Time

Ameri Corps Seniors Coordinator Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs, Stark and Summit Counties Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week $36,000/Year GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Recruits, trains, and places Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion volunteers. Will oversee FGP and SCP in assigned counties (Summit and Stark).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion operations in assigned counties.

Recruits, enrolls and trains FGP/SCP volunteers while ensuring all proper documentation is obtained; conducts regular volunteer gathering events including monthly in-services.

Works with FGP and SCP volunteers to ensure that stipends are completed correctly; responsible for verifying stipends and turning them into the Assistant Director.

Provides appropriate volunteer recognition throughout the year (i.e. birthdays, important life events) and facilitates the implementation of annual volunteer recognition event in assigned counties.

Establishes and maintains FGP and SCP volunteer stations and ensures stations comply with grant performance measurements as needed.

Maintains local FGP and SCP volunteer, station and program files and provides central office with required paperwork.

Recruits, trains and directs activities of local Advisory Council members with assistance from other staff as delegated

Encourages Ameri Corps Seniors members to participate in National Days of Service (ex: MLK, Patriot Day) and promotes national service/National Days of Service in the local community

Maintains paperwork for funding sources as needed;
Enters data and extracts reports from a variety of program databases for local, state and federal grant reports as needed;
Assists Director and Assistant Director with reports as needed.

Maintains FGP petty cash and local program budget; prepares check requests as needed.

Promotes the Ameri Corps Seniors mission and needs and recognizes member contributions to both internal and external audiences.

Assist with all Ameri Corps Seniors programs as needed and with compliance requirements.

Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and education/certification/registry requirements.

Assist with maintaining a safe work environment.

Provides back-up coverage to other counties as needed.

Regular travel throughout assigned counties, and to other locations within the state as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to interact with others, specifically senior population.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including percentages and averages with a calculator.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, correspondence and general text.

Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data.

Valid Ohio Driver's License, reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability

Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation and FBI).

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with Seniors, volunteering and/or social services preferred. Proficient with technology (i.e. computer, phone, data entry), as well as Microsoft Office programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel within and outside of assigned county.
