• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing education and clinical nursing study.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN preferred.

• 2+ years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants.
• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience may be considered with Chief Nursing Officer approval.

• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for Critical Care areas within the first year of employment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for RNs in Children's Hospital within one year of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU RNs.
• Chemo/Bio course completion required within 2 years if employed in units where chemotherapy is administered.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required for Dedicated Trauma Centers within 24 months.
• Vascular Access Registered Nurse (VARN) program attendance required with certification within a year for PICC areas.
