Clinical Nurse Leader
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical leadership and direction of patient care, provide patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities include serving as a consultant in the area of Imaging Services, assisting in maintaining hospital and unit mission and standards, demonstrating ability to perform staffing and rounding in Imaging Services, collecting comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation, analyzing the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issue, identifying expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation, developing a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes, implementing the identified plan, coordinating care delivery, and employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment, evaluating progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, attaining knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice, evaluating one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, interacting with and contributing to the professional development of peers and colleagues, collaborating with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice, integrating ethical provisions in all areas of practice, integrating research findings into practice, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services, providing leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession, assisting in improving and maintaining excellent patient perception in Imaging Services.
Job requirements include a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio, BSN preferred, critical care experience: 2 years critical care experience; ACLS preferred, evidence of good health as evidenced by infrequent absenteeism, able to function independently with good critical care thinking skills, demonstrates active involvement in Imaging Services (committee involvement), demonstrates a commitment to the mission and values of Aultman Hospital and Radiology, demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills with staff, patients, families, physicians, and other departments, proactively deals with constant change, demonstrates the ability to function satisfactorily as a professional nurse as described in the Staff Nurse Position description.
Working conditions include 7:00am to 5:30pm M-F or hours as required by the job, occasional weekends, holidays, and off-shifts, interventional radiology nurses: on call requirements, subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day, sitting/standing/moving about during working hours, work at least two days a week, lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff to maintain adequate floor coverage, expected to adhere to hospital policies and procedures, able to fulfill position description requirements, bending, lifting, and walking around without restrictions.
