About This Role
The RN in the Special Care Nursery at Cleveland Clinic’s Mercy Hospital provides specialized care for babies born at 32 weeks or greater. This role is ideal for dedicated caregivers who are passionate about neonatal nursing and eager to support families during critical times.

Full-time, Night shift
- Provide direct nursing care to infants in the Level II NICU.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
- Cross train in the post-partum area.
- Assist with vitals, breathing and feeding support.
- Provide homegoing education to parents.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program) required.
Experience: 1 year of current acute care RN experience required; military RN experience considered.
Licenses &
Certifications:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN);
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire;
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.
