Overview of Department

The Ambulatory Cardiac Unit operates from 5 a.m. Monday to 10 p.m. Friday. It contains 18 beds: 10 private non‑monitored rooms and 8 private telemetry monitored rooms. The monitored rooms are reserved for patients with short stay/observation status, such as post‑procedure percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac ablation, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and minor vascular procedures. The unit is staffed with registered nurses and a non‑licensed patient care technician.

It serves adult cardiac and vascular outpatient populations, as well as short‑stay post‑procedure patients, and collaborates with other heart and vascular hospital departments to streamline and improve patient care.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide clinical leadership and direction of patient care, to educate patients and families, and to collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in maintaining standards of nursing care in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

• Graduate of a state board approved School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Educational and experiential qualifications with consideration of the following:
  • Education – BSN preferred.
  • Certification preferred for those meeting ANCC eligibility requirements.
  • Membership preferred in a professional nursing organization.
• Academic and experiential requirement as required by applicable federal, state, and local law.
• Proactively adapts to constant change.
• Prepared for an evolving healthcare environment that includes advanced technologies.
