Registered Nurse (RN) - Intake Assessor
Pay: $28 - $35/hr

Location:

Canton, OH

Schedule:

Day Shift | 3x12s (7a–7p)

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations on incoming patients
• Evaluate patients in acute psychiatric crisis
• Determine level of risk (e.g., suicidal ideation, psychosis, aggression)
• Implement immediate safety measures if needed
• Decide urgency of admission or need for higher level care

• Determine if the patient meets criteria for inpatient psychiatric admission
• Recommend appropriate placement:
• Inpatient psych unit
• Collaborate with psychiatrists or providers for final decisions

• Communicate with:
• Social workers and case managers
• Emergency departments, law enforcement, or family members
• Gather collateral information to support assessment

• Education:
  
  Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program. (BSN preferred but not required.)
• License:
  Active, unencumbered RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
• Experience:
  
  2+ years acute behavioral health or crisis evaluation experience preferred. New graduate RNs with strong clinical assessment skills are welcome to apply.
• Other:
  Expertise in risk assessment, de-escalation, and payer authorization processes. Must be 21 or older.
