Position Summary
Sunrise Vista Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality psychiatric and behavioral health care services. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions. This role is ideal for a patient-centered clinician who is passionate about improving outcomes and supporting individuals on their path to recovery.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and physical assessments.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic mental health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patients for therapeutic effectiveness and side effects in accordance with state regulations.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as appropriate.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support a safe, therapeutic environment focused on recovery and patient well-being.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio.
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or mental health settings.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification preferred.
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
