Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Telemetry
The Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Telemetry provides direct patient care in a hospital setting, focusing on adult patients requiring medical surgical and telemetry services. This role ensures safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care aligned with clinical standards and facility policies.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ health status and establish appropriate nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments following protocol and physician orders.
- Monitor ECG rhythms and recognize abnormal patterns to promptly address changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Document patient responses, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
- Adhere to all compliance requirements, including certifications and license verifications.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 18 months recent experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
- Hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or a valid compact state license.
- Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications, with NIH clearance obtained prior to start.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Epic electronic health record systems.
- Provide at least one recent reference from a manager, supervisor, or director within the past 12 months.
- Be able to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safe Medicate assessments with acceptable scores during orientation.
