Position Summary

The Aultman Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse that provides direct, primary nursing care to patients/residents. The RN delegates and coordinates patient care, based upon a documented assessment of the patient’s/resident’s needs. The RN supervises the care provided by individuals such as licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians/state tested nursing assistants/nurse aides, medical assistants, and etc., if applicable.

Aultman Hospital

The Aultman Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse that provides direct, primary nursing care to patients/residents. The RN delegates and coordinates patient care, based upon a documented assessment of the patient’s/resident’s needs. The RN supervises the care provided by individuals such as licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians/state tested nursing assistants/nurse aides, medical assistants, and etc., if applicable.

The Hybrid OR is located in the Bedford building on the second floor. The Hybrid OR provides care for all adult cardiac and vascular patients greater than or equal to twenty-one years of age. The Hybrid OR is staffed for elective surgery Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. A surgical team is available (within 30 minutes) at other times to perform non-elective cases.

Additional rooms can be opened on afternoon, midnights, weekends and holidays to accommodate emergency cases.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required.
• Certification preferred for RNs meeting applicable certification eligibility requirements.
• Membership in professional nursing organization preferred.

• 2 years prior experience in operating room, invasive heart lab, interventional radiology, or critical care environment preferred.
• Must fulfill the role of circulator, scrub nurse, and IV sedation nurse.
• Certification preferred for those meeting AORN eligibility requirements.

• Proficient computer skills to complete tasks as required.
• Must be organized, able to effectively prioritize tasks and exhibit appropriate time management skills.
• Must be detail oriented while focusing on safe practices and quality care.
• Demonstrates effective communication.
• Effective appropriate and professional interactions with colleagues/physicians, patients and visitors.

• Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
