PRN RN Surgery - Heart Surgery; Prior Cardiac Surgery

The PRN RN Surgery position focuses on providing professional nursing care in an operative setting for adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures, particularly in open heart surgery. • Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients.
• Perform scrub functions, including selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring and communicating patients’ conditions.
• Manage overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis and suturing.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.

Education
:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience
:

• Internal applicants: 1 year of recent related clinical experience.
• External applicants: 2 years of recent related clinical experience.

Licenses & Certifications
:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
