Advance Practice Nurse - Second Shift

We are
seeking an APN to join our team in Canton, Ohio where you will become part of a collaborative community of dedicated professionals whose primary mission is to improve the lives of our clients.

• Apply medical knowledge to screen, diagnose, treat, and manage the mental health care of clients while maintaining client data in an electronic health record.
• Administer psychiatric treatment, including prescriptions and medication reviews.
• Assess hospitalization need.
• Establish initial treatment plan and monitor progress.
• Initiate referrals to internal or external providers.
• Provide psychiatric consultations and program consultations.
• Educate individuals and families about medication management.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, physicians, and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in team-based responses to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies, including implementation of seclusion and restraint interventions when clinically indicated and authorized in accordance with Ohio law, agency policy, and approved training methods.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques to reduce risk and support stabilization.

• Must have an Ohio license as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist with prescriptive authority
• Must maintain a Standard Care Arrangement with an identified Coleman Psychiatrist in accordance with the State of Ohio Board of Nursing
• Must have an NPI number, be enrolled as a provider to bill Ohio Medicaid, and have a CAQH account created

• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, or assist in moving up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance
• Must be able to physically participate in approved crisis intervention and safety procedures, including physical escorts, therapeutic holds, and restraint interventions
