Hot Inspector

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts - though overtime may be required occasionally, as an 8-hour weekend shift.

Day Shift: 6:20 AM to 2:20 PM

Afternoon Shift: 2:20 PM to 10:20 PM

Night Shift: 10:20 PM to 6:20 AM

Note:

As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift and/or night shift at some point following initial training.

Pay Rate: $26.50 per hour

Position Overview:

The Hot Inspector is responsible for inspecting forgings during production to ensure they meet specifications. This role involves using inspection tools and visual techniques to identify defects, verify dimensions, and support overall quality and process control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect forgings during production for compliance with specifications
• Conduct visual inspections to identify surface defects
• Measure and verify part dimensions using appropriate tools
• Communicate inspection findings to support quality and process control
• Work closely with operations to maintain product quality
• Identify causes of defects and assist with corrective actions
• Maintain inspection records and documentation
• Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Operate Forklifts, pendant cranes, and hoists safely
• Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
• Knowledge of quality inspection practices

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.
• Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
• Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
