POSITIONDESCRIPTION:
Supports production areas for quality issues and questions. Performs quality checks on in process and finished products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Performs quality inspections on steel poles.
- Dimensional audit at set-up.
- Visual Inspection (VT) on all welds in accordance with AWS D1.1.
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). (Certification required) Levels I and II
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT). (Certification required) Levels I and II
- Maintain records. (Resource sheets, MT & UT reports)
- Report in non-conforming out of specification products.
- Educate non-quality employees on quality standards.
- Daily job duties are subject to change at any time based on department needs.
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use measuring tools including weld gages, adjustable fillet weld gages, tape measurer, girth tape and v-wack gage
- Ability to use all other quality tools including but not limited to a flashlight, paint marker, MT yoke, UT scope, QC stamp, and red tags
- 1-3 years of Quality Control experience
- Experience with AWS D1.1
- CWI Certification preferred
- Epicor experience a plus, but not required
- Experience with DOT standards as it relates to traffic/utility structures
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment, or materials 50 lbs. or less.
- Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching.
- Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
- Adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures, including, but not limited to proper PPE, and Daily Equipment Inspections.
