Wage Information
Starting Hourly Rate Range: $23.68 – $32.02.
Position is part‑time, up to 29 hours per week. Schedule will be determined by the City. Employees are offered paid vacation, sick time, and a retirement plan.
Job DescriptionAs a maintenance and repair technician, responsibilities include:
- Calibrating, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation, control devices, and electrical equipment for the Water Reclaimation Facility.
- Performing fine calibration of instruments and controls with manual dexterity.
- Inspecting equipment and instrumentation, troubleshooting issues, checking motors for proper loading, and cleaning motors.
- Determining circuit amperage, adjusting and repairing motor starting equipment, and installing new or existing equipment.
- Creating temporary wiring for movable equipment, installing new lighting fixtures, and repairing existing lighting.
- Maintaining an inventory of repair parts and notifying management of requisitions. Keeping records of maintenance activities as required.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of computers, electronics, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, telemetering principles, electricity, motors, and motor controls.
- Good technical judgment and the ability to analyze situations and develop workable solutions.
- Effective oral and written communication and the ability to assist and advise supervision.
Acceptable experience and training:
- Associate’s degree in electronics or electricity, or related field.
- At least three years of practical experience in similar work, or a comparable combination of knowledge, training, and experience.
- Valid State of Ohio driver’s license at all times.

- Potential eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness and participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
