Job Overview
Gerber Collision & Glass is offering a 30-day trial to qualify for an 18-month Technician Development Program. The role provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians in auto body repair.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in performing basic auto body repairs including dent removal, sanding, and painting under supervision.
- Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
- Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Trade or vocational school graduation (preferred).
- Some on-the-job experience (preferred).
- I-CAR Gold Class (preferred).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Capable of stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required.
- Can visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Proficient in using hands efficiently for handling vehicle parts.
- Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools preferred.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
- Reliable transportation for commuting.
- Maintain a good rapport with supervisors and co-workers.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Present a friendly, pleasant, accommodating, cheerful, courteous, helpful, and outgoing disposition toward fellow employees at all times.
- Promote a positive spirit of teamwork within the company.
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform all assigned activities in accordance with the company's Standardized Operating Procedures.
- Continuously strive to improve the efficiency of the production department and overall company operation.
- Participate in training programs as required.
- Extend normal working hours as necessary to accommodate workload and customer requirements.
- Be willing to attend company meetings.
- Mentor accepts trainee.
- No unplanned absences.
- No tardiness violations.
- Has worked with selected mentor for at least 90% of the 30-day period.
- Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment.
- Mentor signs training agreement.
