The Stark County Engineer’s Office is now accepting applicants for the position of Mechanic under the general direction of the Garage Supervisor.
General Qualifications- Shall have the ability to perform physical labor
- Shall have experience as a skilled mechanic or a recent trade school mechanic diploma
- Shall have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license
- Shall have or be willing to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License
A SCEO mechanic performs vehicle, machinery, and tool maintenance and repair and may be required to operate light equipment. Required tasks may demand skill and strength with manipulative devices and demand a knowledge of proper installation, repair, and maintenance procedures. The employee must be able to read and comprehend written instructions, policies, and procedures pertaining to assigned duties. Work is primarily performed in the SCEO garage facility, however, the employee may occasionally be required to address vehicle or machine issues in the field.
Compensationand Benefits
- Pay begins at $23.19/hour or higher based upon experience and training
