Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Position:
Community Mental Wellness Consultant

A full‑time Community Mental Wellness Consultant will collaborate with families, children, and community partners to enhance mental well‑being. The role focuses on prevention, early intervention, and connection to treatment services.

• Provide supportive interventions with families, children, and the community.
• Implement strength‑based resiliency and skill‑building curriculum in early childhood programs, schools, and caregiver settings, including activities such as puppet use.
• Offer consultation on mental wellness and behavior intervention services.
• Develop and run parent–child events to support social/emotional development and parent education around behavior management, resilience, and AoD prevention.
• Coach parents and caregivers to address child needs using evidence‑based parenting models such as Triple P:
  Positive Parenting Program.
• Promote a climate that fosters resilience and positive social, emotional, and behavioral development.
• Attend collaborative team meetings to create positive change within the community.
• Maintain accurate records of service delivery and complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Develop rapport with local social service partners and community resources.
• Engage with family and child‑serving systems, including attending community meetings.
• Coordinate and refer to community services when needed.
• Advocate for children, families, and community mental wellness.
• Participate in required train‑the‑trainer sessions and ongoing professional development (e.g., Triple P, Transition to Independence Process Model, Motivational Interviewing, Strengthening Families Framework, Life Skills, CAST, Too Good, Incredible Years, Ohio Consultation Model, Devereux assessments).
• Provide group sessions related to the above curricula.
• Pursue continuing education to obtain and maintain professional credentials, licenses, and certifications.
• Participate in professional supervision and training activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Serve as point of contact for assigned community‑serving agencies.
• Represent the program at national and local trainings and meetings.

• Minimum two years of college in Child Development or Psychology; bachelor’s degree with licensure preferred (e.g., RA, OCPSA, OCPS‑I, OCPS‑II, LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, Nursing, Ohio‑issued teaching license).
• Minimum two years of experience working with families, children, adolescents, and/or community‑serving agencies.
• Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Culturally competent and willing to work with diverse populations.
• Willingness to pursue prevention credentials and ECMHC as requested by the Prevention Program Manager.

Location:

Plain Township, Stark County.

Salary: $17.50 per hour.

Hours:

Full-time, some evenings and weekends.
