Substitute Bus Driver

Reports to:

SUPERVISOR OF TRANSPORTATION

Required:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Pass yearly physical examination

* Meet all minimum state school bus operator requirements

* Ability to work without supervision

* Cooperate and get along with others

* Honesty

* Work as a member of a team

Desirable:

* Knowledge of the streets of the City of Canton

* Knowledge of the locations of Canton City Schools and buildings

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Bus Driver include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Obeys all traffic laws

* Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses

* Maintains discipline with the students

* Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority

* Keeps assigned bus clean

* Keeps to the assigned schedule

* Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects

* Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness

* Discharges students only at designated stops

* Performs other duties as assigned
