General Purpose of Job:
The Line Services Technician position is responsible for providing fuel, oil, hangar and tie down storage, lavatory service, courtesy car transportation, luggage handling, and interior and exterior services to customers and other departments. Additional responsibilities include commercial ramp operations, aircraft cleaning, operations, and commissary duties as required.

Duties
  • Performs fueling and de-icing of all types of aircraft in accordance to specific standards.
  • Directs the movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and in and about the shops and hangars of the Company's facilities; properly secures all parked aircraft at all times, cleans windshields, removes trash, performs lavatory service and checks tire pressures as requested.
  • Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles, and services aircraft and ground support vehicles with fuel, oil, and all other supplies and materials which may be required by the aircraft or vehicle; responsible for operating and filling fuel trucks; cleaning, servicing, operating, and performing minor maintenance on this equipment.
  • Uses safety related equipment and provides de-icing service to aircraft when needed.
  • Performs grounds keeping and janitorial maintenance duties, drives snow plow and assists with snow removal as required.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas in and about the Company's vicinity.
  • Assists all aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services they may require.
  • Assists with daily fuel farm inspections including performing preloading and quality control inspections.
  • Performs daily and monthly fuel truck safety inspections. Ensures vehicles are in safe operating order and running properly.
  • Maintains compliance with all FAA, Federal, State, Local and Avflight safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years related experience, aviation experience a plus.
  • Must pass background check, pre-employment drug test, have valid Driver's license with a good driving record within company standards.
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills with the ability to easily grasp the functionality and concepts of company software for paperwork and computer transactions.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 70 lbs. for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Must be available and willing to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.

Physical Demands

Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75‑80 lbs.). Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry a 70‑pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry a 70‑pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet;

must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment

Airport environment:
Indoors and outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
