As an Ambassador for Airgas, the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business partners.
Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company‑provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with customers.
You will be part of a supportive professional team that encourages personal growth and internal mobility, while ensuring a healthy work/life balance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases at external and internal customer locations.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtain customer signatures, collect empty or unsold cylinders and return them for refilling.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA and OSHA.
- Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
- Hazmat Endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum one year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years and a clean driving record (criteria described).
- Accredited driving school diploma may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs and occasionally 76–125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending required.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Must obtain forklift operator certification.
