Position Purpose
Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, and serve as the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers.
Job DescriptionThe hourly CDL‑A driver is responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive‑and‑drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The driver communicates and interacts with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.

- Base pay $28/hour + component pay based on job efficiency

- No merchandising, stocking, or cash handling required
- Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post‑trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer according to DOT regulations, reporting any safety issues or required repairs.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
- Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Perform count checks of items and reconcile customer invoices; complete all required freight paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule; unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Conduct damage‑control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor regarding any removal of orders; verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required.
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure doors; ensure all freight is locked and secured.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork. Remove trash and equipment from trailers as required.
- Complete a daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean; at shift end secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 6+ months delivery driver experience
- Valid CDL‑A license
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have a current DOT Health Card, or be able to secure one
- Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (typically 10–35 pounds, occasionally up to 90 pounds)
