Job DescriptionHajoca Corporation is one of the country’s largest privately‑held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca operates on the principles of Service, Integrity, Reliability, and on relationships of trust and support with teammates, customers, and suppliers. Although a large company, each location—called a Profit Center—is run independently by a Profit Center Manager, a small‑business model that allows for customized service in each local market.
Rex Pipe and Supply is one of those trade names and is looking for a Warehouse Teammate at their Canton, OH location.
Pay for Warehouse Teammate is between $20 and $25 per hour at this location.
Warehouse Responsibilities- Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
- Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders according to company policy and procedure.
- Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to the designated employee.
- Identify non‑stock, special‑order material, and damaged material and store them in proper warehouse locations.
- Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third‑party carriers.
- Load and unload trucks, operate a forklift and other material‑handling equipment safely.
- Inform supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/non‑saleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
- Ensure security and controls are in place to protect profit‑center assets.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety; remove debris; report safety issues.
- Assist co‑workers in servicing customers.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s safety standards.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Load the truck with Hajoca merchandise and secure the load to prevent shifting or damage.
- Understand shipping documents and ensure order accuracy.
- Unload correct merchandise, obtain legible signatures, and secure outstanding payments for cash‑sale deliveries.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses encountered during deliveries.
- Inspect the truck and required parts to determine safe operating condition before departure.
- Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
- Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
- Remove keys from the truck, store them in the approved location.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
- Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver per company policy.
- Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before starting work and again at least every two years while employed.
- Have 1 year of warehouse receiving and material‑handling experience.
- Preferable knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.
- Apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material‑handling environment.
- Learn to safely operate a forklift and other material‑handling equipment used at the Profit Center.
