R Plant Operator / Backup Delivery Driver (CDL A or

B) – Canton, OH (Open).

As an Ambassador for Airgas, the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to our local and regional business partners. You will operate from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, manage the flow of cylinders, and build lasting relationships with customers.

• Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.

• Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pickups on a load manifest, obtain customer signatures, and return empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders to a plant or branch for refilling.

• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations (DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, OSHA).

• Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.

• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.

• Hazmat Endorsement (or willingness to obtain).

• One year of prior Class A or B driving experience within the last five years with a clean driving record (no more than two convictions), or two at-fault accidents in the last three years; or a combination of one conviction and one at-fault accident in the last three years.

• In lieu of experience, a diploma from an accredited driving school may be considered.

• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, and occasionally lift 76–125+ lbs with equipment.

• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is required.

• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

• Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
