Hatchery General Labor - Canton, OH

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks to facilitate operation of the hatchery, including but not limited to: cleaning incubators, counting eggs/chicks, separating/culling chicks, assisting vaccinators, loading and unloading eggs, and keeping work areas clean and organized.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout‑Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management–related matters.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in company and department safety programs.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work with others in a close environment.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work quickly and multitask.

• Exposed to temperatures up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 100%.
• Exposed to chemicals and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
• Use of personal protective equipment as required.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet, and lift 20–25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
• Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
• Must be able to use a broom, shovel, mop, and scrub brushes.
• Work with chemicals to effectively wash and disinfect equipment and work area.
• Frequent stooping and kneeling.
