Job Summary

Full‑time janitor responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety in educational facilities for SSC Services For Education.

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp‑mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and returns furniture to its correct placement.
• Uses assigned materials and equipment to clean assigned areas, sanitizing all surfaces and following the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Identifies areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete tasks.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor and performs duties in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refines floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team and exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Candidate will pass a background check.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Fixed hourly pay rate: $11.50 per hour

Location:

Canton ISD, 1110 West Highway 243, Canton, TX 75103. (Openings at other locations within the school district are available.)

Schedule:

Full‑time, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary; fixed schedule. Online applications accepted only.
