Assistant Store Manager (Full-Time)

Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary:

As a leader on the Store Management Team the Assistant Store Manager’s key role is to ensure the highest level of customer engagement is met and sales results are achieved. The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the store, including driving sales, providing an exceptional customer experience, recruiting top talent and coaching and developing the team.

In partnership with the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager ensures that all company policies, corporate directives and initiatives are enforced and properly implemented within given deadlines and ensures store standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to overall store success by ensuring store sales goals are met while also achieving individual sales goals.
  • Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day management of the store, and in the Manager’s absence be responsible for all daily operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive sales by styling and wardrobe guidance tailored to each customer.
  • Build client relationships and drive store sales through client outreach.
  • Communicate effectively with the Store Manager regarding goals, skill development, employee relations and daily operations.
  • Assist with training, coaching, developing and motivating the team to achieve maximum sales productivity.
  • Ensure all store operations and policies & procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Recruit and retain top talent to support business needs and sales growth.
  • Manage payroll and store scheduling within established guidelines to ensure proper coverage.
  • Support directives from Visual Merchandising, Operations and Marketing, ensuring that information is properly communicated to the team and all deliverables meet deadlines.
  • Implement loss prevention policies and procedures and assist with financial/sales audits and inventories to protect the store from internal and external shortages.
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of related professional sales experience in specialty or luxury retail and at least 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Career‑driven, strong work ethic and high performance standards.
  • High level of initiative and self‑starter.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently operate a cash register while following cash‑handling procedures.
Special Physical And/or Mental Requirements
  • Repetitive hand motion while operating cash register or computer.
  • Regular interaction with the public in a busy and noisy store environment.
  • Must stand for the entire shift.
  • Operate office equipment (computers, phone, fax, scanner, copier).
  • Must work weekend and night shifts.
  • Climb ladders as needed.
  • Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional travel, often with little advance notice, may be required (including air and overnight travel).
