We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care. Get to Know Your Team: BSA provides 24-hour paramedic care through our ambulance service, which responds to emergencies in Canyon and 825 square miles of Randall County. BSA EMS staffs two stations 24/7/365, one in northern Randall County and one in Canyon.
- The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with established protocols, BSA Health System Policies, and Department Guidelines.
- Safely operates emergency vehicles in compliance with all laws, BSA Policies, and Department Guidelines at all times.
- Accepts other tasks as assigned by the EMS Director.
- High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
- Certification or licensure as an EMT-Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider completion.
- Valid minimum Class C Texas Driver's License with restriction “A” permissible.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) completion within 80 days of employment.
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) completion within 80 days of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) completion within 80 days of employment.
- Completion of the following Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A is required within 80 days of employment.
Job Requirements
- Field experience.
- National Registry.
- Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) completion.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) completion.
- Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) completion.
