Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Facilities will serve as one of the primary representatives for Texas A&M University. Responsibilities include coordinating and directing all activities within the assigned region under the Facilities Director, monitoring operations for account matters, ensuring high client and customer satisfaction and account retention, providing strong employee relations, achieving financial goals and business growth plans, and ensuring compliance with all client and corporate policies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance and customer service
  • Visit departments regularly to inspect operations and ensure contract compliance
  • Share responsibility for attaining financial goals for the location
  • Share control of overhead expenses with the region
  • Review and analyze financial statements, weekly operating reports, and other financial results with the director
  • Recommend and manage capital requirements to maximize financial returns
  • Monitor future contract financial reviews and updates
  • Ensure productivity and staffing appropriate to regional and divisional goals
  • Maintain client satisfaction to ensure account retention
  • Ensure compliance with client contract provisions
  • Assist in customizing programs to meet each account’s unique needs as required
  • Ensure consistent and fair administration of personnel policies
  • Interface with existing clients to maintain satisfaction and retention
  • Assist Director in conducting performance evaluations
  • Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policy on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines
  • Complete other duties assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five+ years of management experience in housekeeping/facilities management or other service-related field with high customer/client contact
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience is preferred
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and leadership
  • Proficient in Windows office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an unstructured, fast‑paced, P&L driven environment
