General

Summary:

The Program Coordinator II (Rural Community Engagement & Impact Coordinator), under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community-engaged initiatives aligned with the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative (BHWI) and related workforce development, community health, resilience, and regional capacity-building efforts. The position supports partnership development, place-based program implementation, cross-sector collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and applied evaluation activities, designed to strengthen community outcomes, regional impact, and organizational learning while informing continuous improvement efforts.

The Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external partners to support implementation, impact measurement, strategic planning, and future funding opportunities while ensuring community-engaged work is effectively coordinated, documented, and aligned with program and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Community Engagement, Partnership Development & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with rural communities, partner organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, workforce partners, CHW training organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinates outreach; engagement, communication, and relationship-building activities designed to strengthen partnerships, increase participation, and support community-engaged initiatives.
  • Represents the department and University at meetings, events, and community engagement activities.

Program Implementation & Community-Based

Activities:

  • Coordinates planning, development, implementation, and support of community-engaged initiatives aligned with workforce development, community health, resilience, and regional capacity-building efforts.
  • Supports coordination and implementation of workforce pathway initiatives, including Community Health Worker (CHW) recruitment, engagement, training coordination, participant support, and related workforce development activities.
  • Assists with implementation of program objectives, project activities, trainings, workshops, community forums, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Supports place-based initiatives and community-driven solutions that address identified regional needs and priorities.

Evaluation, Impact Measurement & Continuous Improvement:

  • Supports applied evaluation, participatory data collection, impact tracking, needs assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Compiles, organizes, analyzes, and summarizes program statistics, engagement data, implementation outcomes, and evaluation findings.
  • Assists with development of reports, presentations, impact summaries, and recommendations to support organizational learning, strategic planning, and decision-making.

Communications, Documentation & Reporting:

  • Develops and maintains program documentation, records, databases, and reporting systems while supporting compliance.
  • Assists with preparation of reports, presentations, outreach materials, stakeholder communications, and grant-related documentation.
  • Ensures community-engaged work is effectively documented and aligned with organizational, institutional, and funding requirements.

Cross Initiative Integration:

  • Connect community insights to BHWI workforce pathways, service design, and rural leadership outcomes.
