Position Overview

• Full‑time Senior Electrician (Journeyman)
• Location:
  
  2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016 (Other locations within the school district available)
• Schedule:
  
  Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm (full‑time or part‑time options available)
• Pay: $20.00‑$28.00 per hour
• Requirement:
  Prior licensed electrician experience

The Senior Electrician/Maintenance Technician, under general direction, provides operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of secondary components of the electrical distribution as well as all fixed and non‑fixed electrical equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role also includes a variety of skilled maintenance duties for the site and Maintenance Department.

• Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device.
• Interprets blueprints and diagrams, estimates materials, time, and costs, and requests supplies.
• Constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems.
• Pends and installs EMT, rigid, plastic‑bond and steatite conduit.
• Troubleshoots all electrical systems.
• Locates cables ranging from low to high voltage throughout campus for contractors.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs, or diagnoses malfunctions of electrical systems.
• Assists in determining manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects.
• Responds to emergencies and makes necessary repairs.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds, and completes tests, and inspections.
• Recommends modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting.
• Working knowledge of Local, State and National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Valid Journeyman Electrical License.
• Experience reading blueprints, specifications, or models and making routine computations.
• Rudimentary ability to operate hand‑operated construction equipment.
• Physical ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs, kneel/bend/stoop, and perform strenuous labor for extended periods.

• Exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and/or infection control areas.
• Must meet daily completion deadlines and be available for nights, weekends, or overtime to maintain facility safety.
