Position: SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (LICENSED HVAC) (FULL TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (LICENSED HVAC) positions.

Location: TAMU West Texas Mn - 2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016. Openings at other locations within the school district available. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Full and part‑time schedules with flexibility to meet most scheduling needs.

Requirement: Three years of licensed HVAC experience and previous experience maintaining commercial HVAC equipment.

Pay Range: $21.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility’s engineering and maintenance functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems for the facility using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
  • Demonstrates advanced diagnostic skills and performs repairs across multiple types of equipment.
  • Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunctions of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification and licensing requirements.
  • Leads a group of workers on a project.
  • Teaches maintenance skills to other department members.
  • Updates work statuses, timing and costs of repairs using company technology systems.
  • Oversees fleet maintenance support including welding, plumbing, electrical, food‑truck kitchen maintenance, vehicle operation, campus fleet troubleshooting, generator repairs and general maintenance.
  • Reviews work of outside vendors and non‑licensed maintenance workers; creates punch lists.
  • Determines manpower, material needs and deadlines for jobs or projects.
  • Reads blueprints, specifications and models to plan and learn work layout.
  • Makes routine computations as needed.
  • Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes tests and inspections.
  • Responds to emergency problems and performs emergency repairs as needed.
  • Recommends modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
  • Serves as a member of the facility's emergency response team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
  • Specialization in one trade supported by an appropriate Journeyman license issued by the State.
  • Must hold one of the following licenses:
    Journeyman Electrical, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, Journeyman Plumber, Carpentry, Welding, Steam and Pipe fitting, Masonry, or Electronic Instrumentation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and models.
