Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer based out of Cape Canaveral, Florida, Space Force Station. You will support the manufacturing, repair/refurbishment, and testing of key aspects of the Strategic Weapons Systems Program. Your skills will be challenged working on various manufacturing processes for high-value assemblies, machined components, and welded fabrications.

These processes could include precision manual assembly, welding, machining, bonding, finishing, and mechanical assembly. What You'll Get to Do :
* Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, welders, and engineers (located in Cape Canaveral, Sunnyvale, CA, or other supporting locations).
* Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment.
* Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimize/develop production area layouts, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures, and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety, foreign object elimination, and equipment/system maintenance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of new capital equipment for establishing expanded production processes.
* Select roles will also support final acceptance testing of the product and provide technical support to test facility operation as necessary.
* Support potentially multiple production shifts (first, second, third shifts, and weekends) based on the assignment and current and future production schedules.
* Provide training and guidance during the conduct of work performed by technicians.
* Have working knowledge of MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Basic Qualifications Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer :
* Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 8 years of relevant work experience;
Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of relevant work experience, PhD in a STEM discipline with 4+ years of relevant work experience. In Lieu of a degree, must have 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Experience in mechanical assembly processes, welding, and machining.
* Experience with root cause problem solving and continuous improvement.
* Experience performing troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems.
* Experience managing processing documentation/design reviews.
* Experience with performing and coordinating non-conforming material review and disposition on discrepant hardware.
* Experience with technical writing.
* Ability to obtain Secret Clearance, which requires.
* US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer :
* SAP S/4

HANA Cloud ERP system experience
* Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
* Team Center Mission Product Life-cycle Management experience
* Aerospace or defense product experience
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).
* Process Performance Analysis (PRF, PI, PF) implementation.
* Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) implementation.
