Lead Electronics Engineer
The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking an Lead Electronics Engineer to develop Automated Test Equipment.
Location:
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility at one of the Coolest places to work:
Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like? You will support FBM LE refresh and design update projects for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
- Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy's Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.
- Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with our customers, as well as senior leadership.
- Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review, error analysis, integration and troubleshooting.
- Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
- Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.
- Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.
- Support, as required, Failure Review Board activities through closure.
- Ability to travel and work at alternate work sites as required, approximately 25%.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
- Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
- 3+ years professional experience; 3+ years with Masters degree.
- While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
- Hardware development experience
- Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
- Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.
- Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or product subject matter expert on integrated hardware equipment.
Desired
Skills:
- Experience in one or more of the following:
Windchill, Zuken, CREO - Experience working on projects teams and development efforts.
- Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrate test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent.
- Demonstrated an ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
- Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations.
- Requirements decomposition and technical proficiency
- Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
- Issue Tracking experience.
- Experience troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
