Spaceport Integration Manager

Cape Canaveral, FL

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

Spaceport Integration Manager

As a Spaceport Integration Manager, you will work as part of the existing spaceport integration team to coordinate spaceport development with external and internal departments at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) and Kennedy Space Center (KSC). In this role you will assist team members with local permitting coordination with NASA/KSC and the Space Force, spanning civil, architectural, structural, and MEP designs, supporting efforts to push back on unnecessary requirements and streamline existing external approval processes.

This role will be a critical enabler for the manifest increase as we streamline our regulatory requirements and processes, and with the addition of Starship at the Cape.

Working within the team, you will support engagement with NASA/KSC, the Space Force, and Range leadership on local permitting and construction-related approvals. This includes helping maintain strong relationships with permitting authorities and supporting timely review and approval of civil, architectural, structural, and MEP design packages. You will also coordinate with base and Range stakeholders, in support of the Site Director and existing team leads, to help ensure SpaceX is fully aligned at all levels on-base to enable tactical and strategic needs at the launch site.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist existing team members with local permitting coordination with NASA/KSC and the Space Force.
  • Support coordination of civil, architectural, structural, and MEP design packages through applicable review and approval processes, including participation in recurring tag-ups to drive continuous progress.
  • Support the team's engagement with the Range and base construction/permitting stakeholders.
  • Help track and coordinate Range and base requirements related to site development and infrastructure and assist in streamlining external approval documentation and processes.
  • Support communication of the strategic direction of SpaceX including construction, standards, safety, and security measures to help ensure effective and timely approval, support, & execution with NASA/KSC, the Space Force, and the Range.
  • Support resolution of conflicts that arise with tactical execution involving the base, base leadership, and other launch providers.
  • Work with the team to streamline the local permitting and approval process for safe, reliable, robust, rapid, and cost-effective site development by challenging requirements and typical timelines/cost.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the master planning of SpaceX's Florida-based operations at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, or STEM discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical process improvements and/or serving in a technical project management capacity in an aerospace environment.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams, projects, or people.

  • Holds a clearance with Top Secret or Top Secret SCI.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating local permitting and design reviews with NASA, Space Force, or similar federal agencies.
Additional Requirements:
  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations.
