Job Description

Reusable systems with frequent launch cadence are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A highly operable, reliable, and robust ground system is an integral part of a fully reusable launch system. As a Launch Infrastructure Engineer for our dedicated launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, you will be responsible for all phases of the launch site lifecycle including overall architecture, engineering, build strategy, build execution, integration, commissioning, and site operations.

As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can't be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and drive coordination closely across all Launch disciplines and help define & drive infrastructure strategy to enable a high-cadence, fast-turn launch site
  • Develop and maintain interface requirements and performance requirements for heavy civil structures in coordination with launch mechanical, launch fluids, high power, command & control, and vehicle operations
  • Develop, own, and maintain scope development, build sequence strategy, field construction schedule planning, and on-site management
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting; process change orders and maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Leverage field experience in the design of new systems to drive decisions that will assist the construction process as well as future operational needs
  • Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments to optimize design for construction efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Manage, direct, and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and field craft, including all vendors associated with the respective projects on site
  • Oversee quality control inspections, material testing, and compliance with project specifications and safety requirements
  • Develop, own, and execute assigned project scope, RFPs, project award, construction management, and activation for both heavy civil structural and on-site launch facilities
  • Support Launch Environmental & Explosive Siting permitting requirements and associated coordination with the SLD 45, St. Johns River Water Management District, and other federal, state, and local authorities
  • Maintain as-built documentation, track punch list items, and manage project closeout deliverables
  • Drive and maintain project execution quality and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
  • This role requires full-time presence at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, construction management, or similar field
  • 4+ years of experience in a related role performing engineering, design/build, and management of critical infrastructure projects in aerospace or similar high-performance applications (amusement park, oil & gas, heavy equipment, energy systems, etc.)
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of heavy-civil structural engineering and construction, including experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete structures, deep foundations, mass excavations, dewatering, and mass earthwork
