Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off; onsite in Cape Canaveral)

This role is for a Project Engineer IV – Avionics working on the development of sophisticated, state-of-the-art avionics products in a world-class integrated product development environment. The engineer will lead and champion process improvement initiatives across the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) department (Electrical/Software Engineering), driving best-in-class engineering practices that enhance product quality, reduce cycle time, and increase overall development efficiency.

• Define, implement, and sustain best-in-class engineering processes that improve product quality, reduce development cycle time, and increase overall efficiency.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering leads, program managers, quality assurance, and operations to drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile methodologies.
• Lead process-improvement projects within the EGSE project development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with program objectives and standards.
• Support the development project lifecycle by applying systems engineering principles and structured development approaches (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall, V-Model).
• Influence and coordinate stakeholders across disciplines to ensure adoption of improved processes and tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and interconnect diagrams, PCB design flow, and version control tools (such as Git).
• Strong understanding of development project life cycles, including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall, and Systems Engineering V-Model concepts.
• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance; position is located at a facility that requires special access.

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries (e.g., working under standards such as DO-178C or IEC 61508).
• Experience in electrical and/or software development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present technical data clearly.
• Experience with Jira or other Atlassian toolsets to support project tracking and process improvement.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive tasks and issues to closure.
