Work Flexibility:
Hybrid – Expectation to be on site in Weston, FL, 3 days a week.
- Lead efforts to define, simulate, test, and improve the accuracy performance of the Mako robotic system, including arm calibration and intraoperative checks.
- Translate user needs into design accuracy specifications and allocate/decompose accuracy requirements across multi‑disciplinary concepts using modeling, simulation, budgeting, and mathematical techniques.
- Design, implement, and integrate algorithms and technologies onto the robotic platform to ensure clinical accuracy.
- Build and use tools (Matlab, Python, Monte‑Carlo, FEA, Minitab, etc.) to simulate accuracy and analyze results with statistical approaches.
- Lead technical integration of devices to improve platform accuracy and establish feasibility methods.
- Create, assess, and execute performance tests and tools (hardware, software, data post‑processing) to measure accuracy.
- Negotiate accuracy budgets and allowable errors with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (clinical, marketing, sustaining) to transition concepts from feasibility to product launch.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and capabilities to improve robotic surgery accuracy.
- Lead testing, including pre‑verification accuracy test protocols, clinical operating room, and cadaveric testing.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering, Controls/Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 6+ years of related work experience with Matlab, Python, C++, and CAD proficiency.
- Experience in assessing, integrating, and developing electromechanical components and assemblies and familiarity with mechatronics, localization, and robotics system processes.
- Basic understanding of robotics control.
- Experience formulating design requirements and creating pre‑verification accuracy test protocols for electromechanical systems.
- Application of statistics to refine and assess large datasets.
- Practical application of linear algebra and kinematics to robotic and localization systems.
- Algorithm development for robotics, sensors, or anatomical registration.
- Clinical operating room and cadaveric testing experience.
Annual Salary Range: $118,000 – $196,700 USD.
Travel: 10%.
