We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are looking for world class manufacturing engineers to apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing & production processes for the efficient/economical production of aerospace products. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated. If you share our passions and vision, thrive in a dynamic startup environment, excel on integrated cross-functional teams of individuals, are experienced and skilled in several relevant technologies (even if perhaps not in the aerospace industry), continuously seek out opportunities to learn and improve, and do not allow title or job description to limit the depth or breadth of your contributions, then we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve composite layup, curing, trimming, and finishing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, materials, and production to ensure seamless integration of composite components
  • Analyze manufacturing data and recommend process changes to troubleshoot issues, reduce scrap, and meet or exceed performance targets
  • Develop and validate new composite material systems, process models, and automation technologies to push the boundaries of what's possible
  • Document manufacturing procedures, conduct training, and provide technical guidance to production technicians
  • Stay abreast of the latest composite processing techniques, equipment, and quality standards in the aerospace industry
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in advanced composite manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace or high-performance industrial sectors
  • Deep understanding of composite materials, design, and processing methods including autoclave, out-of-autoclave, and additive techniques
  • Expertise in statistical process control, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Passion for space exploration and a drive to push the boundaries of what's possible

If you are an innovative, collaborative, and results-oriented Composite Focused Manufacturing Engineer, we encourage you to apply to join the Blue Origin team. Together, we will redefine the future of space travel.
