Overview

The Teller II conducts transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, meeting or exceeding service quality standards while safeguarding bank assets. This role contributes to the bank's growth by promoting and cross‑selling bank products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, pay out cash, handle negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals and transfers.
  • Set up, close and balance teller station.
  • Record sales of monetary instruments.
  • Maintain a neat and well‑stocked teller area.
  • Cross‑sell bank products and services.
  • Follow limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness.
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures.
  • Assist with balancing vault, ATM, night drop, and coin machine as assigned.
  • Assist with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work.
  • Exercise judgment when applying holds and making check‑cashing decisions.
  • Cross‑train to be available to open basic new consumer accounts.
  • Adhere to work schedule; must be flexible in availability.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Complete required BSA/AML and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Lift coin bags up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate with constant alertness and in a safe manner.
  • May be required to work an alternative location within the region or market as needed.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, with emphasis during high school in office or shop skills, plus 12–18 months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competency Requirements
  • Effective communication with customers, clients, public, and employees, both one‑on‑one and small group situations.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use money and measurements.
  • Critical thinking: use common sense to carry out simple multi‑step instructions and handle standardized situations with limited variables.
  • Adaptability and mental alertness to office and field routines.
Physical and Working Conditions

Periodically exposed to noise; work involves intermittent standing, walking, occasional pushing, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The noise level is usually moderate. Required tasks include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting 25–50 lbs.
