Job Overview
The Care Promoter 1 is an unlicensed medical professional cross‑trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical centers running smoothly. The role varies by setting and is performed under direct physician supervision within the scope of state practice acts. The Care Promoter 1 is a key member of a Physician‑led Care Team focused on providing excellent primary care for a specific patient population.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Measures and records vital signs; records patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
- Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests.
- Assists physician with examinations and explains treatment procedures and physician instructions to patients.
- Performs phlebotomy and collects other lab specimens; conducts basic waived lab tests.
- Prepares and administers medications under physician supervision.
- Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures, and performs other first‑aid procedures; uses CPR skills when necessary.
- Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilizes instruments while practicing OSHA safety standards.
- Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Processes patient phone messages, returns calls, and routes them to appropriate team members.
- Calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
- Calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy upon physician approval and authorization.
- Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology and follows ethical professional conduct.
- Assists with the Chen Med Rx system for medication dispensing as authorized.
- Travels 5‑10% of the time and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and empathy toward patients.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, front desk staff, center managers, and market leaders.
- Problem‑solving mindset focused on patient needs and team goals.
- Knowledge of medical products, services, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency operating phones, personal computers, software, and other IT systems.
- Detail‑oriented to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
- Ability to maintain organized systems for timely patient flow.
- Ability to remain calm in busy or stressful situations.
- May require local travel to support other centers.
$17.0 - $24.26 Hourly. The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary. Final compensation may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Potential eligibility for bonuses or commissions.
