Registered Nurse; RN - Educator

Lee Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to serve as a Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator in the Birthing Suites. The role is part‑time, typically 6 hours per day, with a scheduled shift of 8:00AM to 2:00PM. The position is ongoing and requires a 40‑hour work week.

• Conduct comprehensive maternal, infant and feeding assessments related to lactation.
• Provide education to clients on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and parenting, using adult education principles.
• Offer counseling that encourages informed decision‑making about childbirth and breastfeeding.
• Deliver care based on established clinical nursing practice standards from the American Nursing Association, the Florida Nurse Practice Act, IBLCE and AWHONN.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
• Utilize knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity when providing care.
• Contribute to quality nursing care through excellent customer service and performance improvement techniques.

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years obstetrical or neonatal nursing experience and/or lactation education experience.
• IBCLC certification required, with certification in Childbirth Education preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and customer service orientation.
