Summary
  • Uses predetermined methods, inspection operations and prescribed specifications to visually inspect solder and conformal coating of circuit card assemblies.
  • Performs inspection in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.
  • Uses drawings and written inspection instructions to guide inspection operations.
  • Uses various measuring devices including dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales for 100% visual inspection.
  • Performs visual solder inspection of both SMT (surface mount) and thru-hole components.
  • Inspects conformal coating on circuit card assemblies.
  • Identifies non-conformances per applicable documentation and specifications.
  • Interprets drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC standards, revision control, reference documents, and work instructions.
  • Works under a microscope for extended periods (up to 10 hours) for detailed inspection.
  • Uses personal computers for inspection documentation and record keeping.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing visual solder inspection on circuit card assemblies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience inspecting conformal coating on circuit card assemblies.
  • Prior experience visually inspecting solder connections for both SMT and thru-hole applications in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001.
  • Ability to identify non-conformances per applicable documentation and specifications.
  • Proficient at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC standards, revision control, reference documents, and work instructions.
  • Proficient with personal computers.
  • Ability to work under a microscope for long periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Ability to sit at workstation for long periods.
  • Ability to read and write English and pass vision and medical exams.
