We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Cell Culture Research Associate to support a growing preclinical oncology program. This role is critical to addressing an active backlog of in vitro experiments and will focus primarily on mammalian cell culture, assay execution, and data generation.
This is a laboratory-intensive role for someone who enjoys being at the bench and taking ownership of cell-based workflows from thaw to data.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently thaw, expand, passage, maintain, and bank mammalian cell lines (e.g., HEK
293, HEK
293T, HeLa, A549, NIH 3T3, or similar) - Monitor cell health, viability, and con fluency; maintain sterility and culture integrity
- Perform transfections (PEI, Lipofectamine, or equivalent methods)
- Execute cell-based assays including proliferation, viability, cytotoxicity, and reporter assays
- Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to SOPs and GLP-style recordkeeping
- Support experimental design and collaborate with scientific leadership on data interpretation
- Maintain incubators, biosafety cabinets, and cell culture infrastructure
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cell culture workflows and reproducibility
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or related field
- 3–6+ years of hands-on mammalian cell culture experience in biotech, pharma, CRO, or academic lab
- Demonstrated experience maintaining multiple cell lines independently
- Experience with transfection and standard molecular biology techniques (Western blot, qPCR, ELISA preferred)
- Strong aseptic technique and understanding of cell culture best practices
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented biotech environment
