Jack and Bore Welder

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Jack and Bore Welder for our large heavy civil project located in Cape Coral
, FL.

As a Welder you will be responsible for various welding activities on active construction sites. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of experience welding non‑pressurized pipe (36" to 60") using a Miller Trial Boss stick welding with the ability to also run flux‑core dual‑shield MIG. All applicants should hold an active D1.1 6G certification.

When not welding, employees will assist with general boring operations including preparing the bore pit, moving pipe, and other labor duties such as spiking, anchoring, and surfacing.

• Adhere to and promote safe work practices as determined by the company
• Plan out work activities with Operations team to develop best means and methods, including developing safety action plans or other emergency plans as needed.
• Ensure team has proper resources for the timely completion of work, including laborers, tools, equipment, and material.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Complete written forms and reports as required.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, hearing protection, safety‑toe boots or safety glasses when required.

Essential job duties include climbing ladders into and out of earthen pits or trenches, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds, full range of motion and use of arms and legs, working around heavy equipment and active construction zones.
